I have been meaning to write a review of this dress for several weeks but other commitments have meant that I’ve had to put it to one side. Now I am delighted to be able to tell you about my latest Dolores Doll dress from the amazing Collectif.
Ladies and gentlemen, allow me to introduce you to the Dolores Doll Red Riding Hood Print Dress.

Isn’t she pretty? Ever since this dress was available last year, I have wanted it. The colours are heavenly (you know how much I adore teals and blues) and the touches of red and white set the base colour off perfectly.
I was over the moon when I was able to get my hands on my very own size 12 (medium) Dolores Doll Red Riding Hood Print Dress!
I was so thrilled with this dress. As always, the cut of the Dolores Doll is so feminine and ladylike. It’s sexy without being over the top. The length of the swing skirt is very modest but the fitted boob section and waist make the dress effortlessly girly.
The size 12 is a compromise for me fit-wise. It fits pretty well on the boobs (admittedly it’s a bit on the small side) but is roomy on the waist. I could have gone for a size 10 but then it’s very tight on the boobs and nicely fitted on the waist. I know my proportions mean that I often have to compromise with clothing sizing but the Dolores Doll is a dress that is less of a compromise than others. And I can always add a trusty belt to cinch in my waist!
The colours worked perfectly with my fair complexion and blonde hair. However, I wanted to pick the red out a little more so I accessorised…
My old faithful red patent belt worked brilliantly and made the red in the Red Riding Hood pattern really jump out. But, of course, a belt was not enough…
Now we’re talking! This red shrug from Excite Clothing does the job brilliantly and frames the top half of this dress very nicely. Although it’s a slightly different red to the belt I think it still works well because the belt is shiny patent and the cotton bolero is of course matte.
But how would the outfit look with RED SHOES? Let me show you…
Really pretty! I know these block heel Mary Janes from Simply Be are not the killer heels I was wearing in my other pictures but they are incredibly comfortable and certainly more practical for times when I wear this dress and will either be walking or standing a lot. Comfort is key sometimes. And the patent material ties in nicely with my patent belt – I do love to continue a theme!
I have talked a lot about my love of Collectif Dolores Doll dresses in previous posts – if you’d like to see more reviews just type ‘Dolores Doll’ into the search box on the right hand side of this page.
