Evans Flexisoles Low Wedge Mary Jane Shoes 5EEE

I’ve posted a few times lately about various shoes I’ve tried in my attempt to expand my footwear options.

This time I am focusing on the high street and online plus size brand Evans.

I have long been a fan of Evans footwear – most styles are available in wide and extra wide fittings, meaning that those of us blessed with broad feet have a wide range of choices to cover our tootsies.

Around this time last year, Evans launched a new footwear line called Flexisoles.

Flexisoles footwear is designed to be comfortable and stylish at the same time – something I’ve found very hard to find in the past.  The soles of these shoes, sandals and flip flops are super flexible and have additional cushioning for extra comfort.  Sounds wonderful!

Whilst sales shopping a few weeks ago in Hull, I visited the Evans store in town.  Naturally I made a beeline for the footwear section and tried on a few pairs.  I was thrilled to discover these Flexisoles beauties:

They’re so cute!  I got them in a 5EEE and would say they come up a little small compared to other Evans 5EEEs I have.  They were originally £29.50 but I nabbed them in the sale for only £15!  I have since seen them for only £10 in other stores but are not available online so have a look in your local shop if they take your fancy.

They are made from man-made materials and have a crinkled patent look to them, which is so pretty and different.  The crinkled appearance will help hide the inevitable creases that will form across the toes from wear, as well as scuffs and marks – brilliant!

These Mary Janes have a small wedge heel of around an inch and a half.  This elevates the foot ever so slightly and makes for a much more comfortable foot position.  I find my feet get tired more quickly when I am wear completely flat shoes so even a hint of a heel is better than none.

I really love the position of the strap on these Mary Janes.  Sometimes it can look rather cumbersome and old-fashioned (not in a good way!) to have a strap closer to the ankle but the lower placement of the straps on these shoes is lovely.  They ensure the shoes stay on my feet but also add a touch of classiness – perfect!

Mary Janes are perfect to wear with all sorts of outfits but the patent look and small wedge heel of these Evans ones make them a little more formal and so they’re perfect for everyday wear as well and dressier occasions.  Here I’ve teamed them with my everyday look of a George at Asda Moda Lace Print wrap dress and Maidenform leggings, but they would look equally as great with one of my Collectif Dolores Doll dresses.

If you haven’t tried Evans footwear before then now is a great time as they’ve got a huge sale on!
