I am reviewing as many pieces as possible from Forever 21+’s UK 2018 swimwear collection. These reviews are short and sweet, but nonetheless I hope useful. Today’s review is of the Forever 21 Plus Red Triangle Bikini Top and High-Cut Bikini Bottoms.

The Forever 21 Plus Red Triangle Bikini bottoms I am reviewing are not the ones seen in the stock photo above; as far as I am aware these have never been listed on the F21 website. Instead, I am reviewing a pair that are similar but have a higher cut leg.
I ordered both pieces of the Forever 21 Plus Red Triangle Bikini in a 1X, which is labelled as a UK 20. I’d say that a 1X comes up as more like a UK 16 in this bikini.
The Forever 21 Plus Red Triangle Bikini is a beautiful red hue – like a bright tomato red. It’s absolutely perfect for sunny holidays!
The Forever 21 Plus Red Triangle Bikini top is essentially a cami or a crop top – it has no underwires or formal support. However, due to its design it doesn’t do a bad job of holding up my boobs, even if space in the top is lacking for me. I could definitely do with more material at the sides to help contain my breasts.
The shoulder straps of the Forever 21 Plus Red Triangle Bikini top are fully adjustable, which helps to provide a decent amount of support, especially given the fact this is a non-wired bikini top.
The Forever 21 Plus Red Triangle Bikini top’s back band has no fastening so to get this top on and off it must be pulled over one’s head (or I suppose stepped into, but that’s not an option with my generous hips!). I like the fact there’s no clasp or fastening to fiddle around with or worry about accidentally coming undone in public, and the smooth appearance of the back looks good.
The Forever 21 Plus Red Triangle Bikini bottoms are very comfortable indeed. They are cut to cover the backside but not too much so you won’t get a wedgie, but do bear in mind that more of your cheeks will be on show than with many other brands. The rise at the front is good, too, coming up to an inch or two below the belly button on me. So brief, but not super brief!
I did get quadboob with the Forever 21 Plus Red Triangle Bikini top due to the lack of boob room, and as you can see in several of my pictures my breasts are spilling out at the sides. Not a look I aim for in swimwear, but it’s something I experience all too often as I currently wear a 32M bra so non bra sized items like this are much less likely to fit properly.
It’s such a pity that the Forever 21 Plus Red Triangle Bikini top wasn’t roomy enough for my boobs, otherwise I would have definitely kept it. Yes, it is plain and simple, but thanks to its unfussy design it looks fabulous and was really comfy to wear. I love the eye-catching colour and I bet it would look great against most skintones. I highly recommend this bikini to anyone who isn’t quite as busty as me.
If you want to buy the Forever 21 Plus Red Triangle Bikini you can get the top for just £18 and the bottoms for only £11.20 (was £16). Check availability on the Forever 21+ website.

I have been looking everywhere for a simple bikini, this is perfect! I love the colour too! Thanks for your help xxx
Aww no worries – so glad I could be of help to you. Thanks for commenting on my blog post!
After reading all your Forever21+ reviews I find myself wondering why you are so persistent. Not one of them seems to work on a larger bust, which is what I concluded many years ago when I gave up on regular swimsuits and switched to bra-sized swimwear. I am just curious what motivates you to try so many suits that aren't made for a larger chest! For me it would be an exercise in frustration.I don't mean to be critical, since you're clearly having fun, I'm just wondering what makes you want to try so many swimsuits that can't be expected to fit!
It’s a fair question! In previous years I’ve been able to find at least a couple of pieces per F21+ collection that were ok for me, but it is looking like this year the choices for those with extra big boobs are much more limited. However, I’m posting these reviews in the hope my try-ons will help others as quite often they will work for someone just a few cup sizes smaller than me. Hope that makes sense.
Thanks for the answer. I can't imagine these working on me, at GG, but I suppose that's because I have very low tolerance for fit problems. I'd rather buy a bra-size suit and wear it until it falls apart (5-10 years) or stops fitting, instead of a fashion suit. I do enjoy reading your reviews, but the whole concept of Forever21+ swimsuit reviews was kind of a mystery to me!
You didn’t say your back size, so I don’t know your actual bra size, but I daresay some of these pieces might actually fit better than you imagine. I’m around a 34LL and although they haven’t fitted me in the bust they would definitely work for someone just a few cup sizes smaller. Some people don’t have the money to invest in bra sized swimwear, or they simply want something more fun and exciting, hence I review a range of options and people can pay attention or ignore them as they wish.
I wish Forever 21 was still available in the UK, I miss their clothing a lot! I used to go to the store at Westfield Stratford all the time with my bestie, we had a great time trying on all the latest designs and we’d always come out with a bag full of new clothes!
How can your boobs stay put in this bikini top? I need industrial scaffolding for mine with a planning permit haha!! Your boobs must be super firm and pert for you to be able to wear this bikini, even if just for photo’s?
My favourite time of year used to always be when Forever 21+ brought out their new swimwear for the season. I am so gutted they closed all their stores in the UK. I know I can still buy online but it’s not the same as being able to go into a store and try things on before making the commitment to buy. Due to being neurodivergent I am really bad at remembering to return stuff so I very rarely buy things online unless I am pretty sure I will keep it. So sorry F21 but you have lost a customer in me because you shut down your stores.
Actually I had never heard of Forever 21+ till just now when I saw your reviews. My goodness, they should have had you as their model and maybe then they would have had enough business to keep their stores open. You show off their swimwear and clothing so well, it seems so well suited to your body. Gutted I’ve missed out on these pieces but I am off to see what their latest offerings are like!
You put so much work into your review posts, it’s like a professional but honest review every time. Did these brands pay you? I am guessing not as it’s not mentioned and there is no disclaimer so if that’s the case I am even more impressed that you are doing this of your own volition and at your own cost. Amazing work, and good on you for promoting these plus size brands. We need more bloggers like you.
I used to own this bikini, well, not this actual one as it’s yours but you know what i mean!! I absolutely loved it and got lots of compliments anytime I wore it. It lasted pretty well, probably about 3 summers before I finally had to let it go to swimwear heaven. I haven’t been able to find anything similar enough to replace it though, have you any ideas of where I can try looking?
Red is not my colour but I would have loved this bikini in a leopard print or even houndstooth/dogtooth. Plain colours don’t seem to work well on me but patterns and prints are good instead. Do you know if they ever did different designs for this one?
I have never been brave enough to wear a bikini on the beach but you are giving me ALL the confidence, thank you babe! Your fun and enthusiastic approach makes me want to throw caution to the wind, don a skimpy bikini and go to frolic in the waves! But then paranoid, unconfident me kicks in and says no, we must stay at home and stay covered up. How did you get so confident? Any tips or advice for a wimpy fatty like me?
Like someone else has said, I can never wear bikinis like this with no support. I get such a sore back, it is not worth the minimised tanlines! I get so envious when I see small-breasted women wearing string bikinis but then I remember the pain they cause and I try to feel satisfied with my underwired, industrial strength bra-sized bikini top with enough coverage to cover most of Europe lol! It’s not the same but at least my back isn’t in agony!
Forever 21+ have some SUPER cute swimwear in at the moment, I am really spoilt for choice and will probably have to order a huge haul and then somehow choose between all the gorgeous pieces once I can try them on. I do love online shopping but sometimes it is just easier to go into a real life store and try things on there. Sad it’s not an option for us in the UK anymore, come of F21, bring back your shops please as we miss them!
For any busty women, did you know that Curvy Kate make awesome halterneck bikinis that are underwired? So you get the support without having to wreck your neck! They are really awesome. They’re always for sale on second hand sites like Ebay and Vinted too so it’s easy to get a bargain or find a print from a previous season. I own 5 of their halternecks and am in the lookout for more 😉 x
I gave up giving a shit about people’s opinions years ago and let my girls hang in a string bikini if that where the mood takes me! My own comfort and desires are far more important than other people’s opinions, especially strangers. So if the reason your afraid to wear a string bikini or anything else for that matter is down to being worried about what others will think of you, put that sentiment IN THE BIN IMMEDIATELY and do whatever it is and get on with your life! Life is far too short to waste it living to please other people. Do what you want, wear what you want. It’s your life, not anyone else’s.
Sadly I am too plus size for Forever 21+ swimwear but I did find some gorgeous styles at Swimwear For All. I saw you have a post about them but that bikini ain’t made for my body lol. I will wear a bikini, I just need to make sure it stays put and doesn’t give an accidental flash!!
Bloody hell woman, you look flipping fantastic in this bikini! Talk about the body of dreams, wowzers! If you wore this to the beach you would cause a right scene as all the men (and probably women too) would be so busy ogling you! I am very envious of your figure. I am trying to get up the nerve to wear a swimsuit in public but I haven’t got to that point yet but you are giving me inspiration that I can do it. Thank you x x x
Absolutely stunning!
Blogs like yours really give me so much confidence and inspiration. I hope that doesn’t sound cheesy or like a backhanded compliment but society and the media tell us plus size women we need to lose weight to be acceptable, whereas bloggers like you show us that we can still enjoy life in our bodies as they are now. Thank you for that!
As an aside, I find underwired bikinis much better than wireless ones but either way it is good to have options.
Red is your colour girrrrrrrrrrl 😍 If Baywatch had a bikini version of their swimsuit, this would be it. Talk about hot tamale!!
Love your blog and your in-depth reviews.
For years I kept my body hidden away due to lack of confidence, I felt like I wasn’t enough and that I didn’t deserve to enjoy the beach or the pool like everyone else. But little by little, blogs like yours have helped turn my confidence around and now I am the proud owner of 11 – yes, 11 – bikinis and I wear them all with pride. Who cares if people stare – they are just jealous that they aren’t as happy in their own skin as I am in mine.
Btw I managed to find this bikini on Depop and it’s a beaut!
Maybe it’s just me but I think you would do better sticking to reviews of items that actually fit you, this looks much too small in the top at least so how can you give it a proper review? Not meaning to be rude and perhaps I am missing something here but I don’t understand the point of posting about things that don’t fit? How does that help anyone?
I remember my sister had this bikini and I was so jealous! I wanted one but missed out as it had sold out by the time I got paid. I ended up ‘borrowing’ it from my sister and she never noticed as she had so many clothes and swimwear that she just didn’t miss it. Meanwhile I wore it almost every day that summer 😉
To the commenter who said they don’t see the point of this review, first of all, it’s Curvywordy’s blog so she can choose to post about whatever she want’s! Secondly, even though it might not be the right size for her, she does point this out in the post and it is still useful for others to see how things either work or don’t work for her as it gives us an idea of how they might or might now work for us. Also, if the item was available in her size I am sure she would have ordered it! It’s probably that there aren’t that many items that actually are her size (she has written on other posts that her proportions mean that she doesn’t fit into standard sizing brackets so has to size up or down and try to make things work) so she tries to make do with what’s available instead. Hope this helps!
I could never wear a flimsy bikini like this, I need basically a bra that is actually a bikini lol. Curvy Kate and Bravissimo are the go-to’s for me. Sometimes I wish I could just chuck on something light and tiny like this but then I remember how bad they look on me and so I stick with my underwired swimmers instead. This does look amazing on you though!
As stunning as this looks on you, I don’t think I could personally be doing with the constant fiddling and adjusting bikinis like this need. For me it is much better to have a properly fitted bikini or swimsuit that stays put and supports me properly, it looks better IMHO and I feel so much more comfortable.
Another utterly gorgeous bikini on you! And I am always very grateful for the details you include in your posts, not like some others who literally just show the piece and don’t say anything about sizing or fit etc. So your helpful AND stylish! 10/10 <3
Not sure why these people are questioning why you’re reviewing something that’s small. You explain it in your post and you have also explained it here in the comments. Not that you need to explain yourself to anyone, like someone else has said, it is your blog so it’s up to you what you post. You are simply showing how this bikini in this size works (or doesn’t work) on your body. End of.
You look absolutely banging by the way and if it was me I would of kept this bikini 🔥
