This post is going to feature the same Forever 21+ bikini but in two different colourways – how exciting!
Step forward the Forever 21 Plus Bandeau Bikini, available in two different colours: Black and Salmon. The bikini set comprises a Bandeau Top and matching High-Waist Bottoms.
Unfortunately the stock photos are no longer available so you will just have to make do with mine. I hope they will give you a sufficiently clear enough idea of what this bikini set looks like when being worn.
Pinky ‘nudes’ and skin tone hues seem to be all the rage this season so I was particularly excited to try the Forever 21 Plus Bandeau Bikini in Salmon to see what it looked like with my natural colouring. I’ve got absolutely no tan at the moment and haven’t used gradual tan – which I used to apply every day – since last year. And of course you can’t go wrong with a classic black bikini so I was eager to try this one too and see how they looked side by side…in my photo collages afterwards, at least!
I ordered both sets and both pieces in a 1X, which on the label says is a UK 20 but I think it’s more akin to a 16 or 18.
The Forever 21 Plus Bandeau Bikini top has no underwires but it does have removable pads to preserve one’s modesty in case the fabric is a little see-through. Personally I always take the pads out because they never stay in place and end up folding and causing weird lumps and bumps where they have got bunched up in the pockets!
The neck strap of the Forever 21 Plus Bandeau Bikini is a bit thin but thankfully not uncomfortably so, and it can be removed if wished. Personally, I did not wish as my boobs prefer the support it provides, and I think the Forever 21+ Black and Salmon Bikinis would have quickly rolled off my boobs without it!
The Forever 21 Plus Bandeau Bikini top’s band fastens with a ‘swan hook’ closure – the hook is on one side and on the other there are several loops into which it can slot, depending on how tight or loose you choose to wear it.
As I hope you can see, I have my usual gripe of not having enough boob room in the Forever 21 Plus Bandeau Bikini top. Sizing up wouldn’t solve this as the compromise of a loose band would not then give sufficient extra room in the bust…but this is a particular and common problem for me as my breasts are that much bigger than my underbust by around 18″ and so it would be a miracle if I could make a non-cup sized top like this work properly.
I really loved the Forever 21 Plus Bandeau Bikini’s high-waisted bottoms. I feel their name is a little misleading, however, as they are not what I’d class as high-waisted! For me, high-waisted means sitting on or very close to the waist, and these fall several centimetres/a few inches short of that. Yes, the sides can be worn fairly high but the waist itself is not cut high.
These Forever 21 Plus Bandeau Bikini briefs are great though – they are more skimpily cut that some of my other bikini bottoms but they cleverly manage to give sufficient butt coverage without giving me a wedgie. Win!!
At the front the Forever 21 Plus Bandeau Bikini briefs are a good height and sit in a comfortable position on my tummy.
I was rather tempted to keep both of these bikinis but I ended up returning them because I can’t afford to buy maybes at the moment. Only if something is a 100% definite and I can truly justify needing it will I allow myself to keep it. Money is very tight and so I must be responsible and careful.
That said, if you’re looking for a non-cup sized bikini that looks great then as you can see the Forever 21 Plus Bandeau Bikini is a great option in either colourway. You can buy it on the Forever 21+ website here.
What do you think of the Forever 21+ Bandeau Bikini, and which colour do you like best: Salmon or Black? Let me know in the comments!

I can't decide if I like the black one best or the salmon one. They both look so good on you but it looks like your tit's are about to pop out hahaha ;oD I’m going to recommend it to my daughter though as she has been looking for something like this.
Yes, that's why I didn't keep it!! Too dangerous for my bust.
I hope your daughter decided to give this a try, thanks for the recommendation!
What a shame the top didnt have enough room, it looks like the perfect fit apart from that! My boobs are smaller than yours so I think I will give this one a try. I love the pinky coloured one XXX
Yes, I felt very sad when it didn't fit, but I hope my review is useful nonetheless. Did you end up buying this yourself?
You look great, but the salmon looks darker than expected? For me, salmon would be a no go color, but this looks nice.
Yes, I totally agree, it's a really lovely colour in real life. I didn't think I would like it either but was pleasantly surprised and even moreso at how well it suited me in the end.
They should defiantly make more boob room in thier swimsuits and bikini's. You would of rocked this on the beach this summer!Keri X
Aww thank you! I would have loved to keep it but there's no point hanging on to things that don't fit as I'd never wear them.
That salmon color is fantastic! It might even look nice with my snow white skin. Thank you again for such in depth reviews
Thank you for your kind comment – it's great to hear that my posts are helpful.
And yes, the salmon colour would look beautiful on very fair skin. Give it a try!
