Forever 21+ Swimwear 2018: Plus Size Cutout One-Piece Swimsuit in Red

Here’s the latest in my series of reviews of Forever 21+’s 2018 UK swimwear collection: the Forever 21+ Cutout Swimsuit in Red.

This particular swimsuit appealed to me for a number of reasons including its unique shape and style and gorgeous colour. I ordered the Forever 21+ Cutout Swimsuit in a size 1X, which is labelled as a UK 20, but I would say is more like a UK 16/18.

I was not disappointed! The Forever 21+ Cutout Swimsuit puts a firm tick in the style and uniqueness boxes, with its unusual design, and the colour is really lovely, too. It’s very similar to the red ribbed bikini I reviewed recently.

The Forever 21+ Cutout Swimsuit has no bust support at all, so no hidden boob shelf and certainly no underwires.

There is a little boning on the central bust area to help the swimsuit hold its shape here, as otherwise the fabric would just curl or stretch out.

The shoulder straps are thin but I am pleased to report that they are fully adjustable. Despite their skimpiness they provide pretty good support because of this.

I always have an issue with swimming costumes because – due to my bust and hips being significantly larger than my waist – the fabric of the swimsuit doesn’t properly follow the shape of my body and so makes me look fuller at the waist than I actually am.

This isn’t such a problem on the Forever 21+ Cutout Swimsuit as it’s open on the tummy and so the fabric shapes to the rest of me a bit better, but I still prefer a bikini overall.

I really love this peephole tummy design, though – it’s so unusual and really great to see on a plus size swimwear item.

Forever 21+ seem to pride themselves in pushing the boundaries with plus size clothing and swimwear, and this is a prime example of them bringing out a piece that is individual and fashionable and truly eye-catching. Well done!

The Forever 21+ Cutout Swimsuit fastens at the back with a single plastic clasp. As you can see in my below photo the cutout design is also featured on the back – fabulous!

The Forever 21+ Cutout Swimsuit is fairly high cut in the leg and bordering on skimpy (but very comfortable) on the backside.

This looks and feels like a 2018 update of the Baywatch swimsuit! It’s just fantastic, and I desperately wanted it to work for me. But as you can see it just did not work on my boobs. Excessive quadboob is not a look I embrace so I would need quite a bit more boob room in order to wear this suit. I’m so upset! But if you are a little less busty than me I urge you to give this one a try as it’s a real gem.

I love how this is almost a bikini but not, so it’s perfect for women who are too nervous to wear a bikini but want to bare a bit more flesh than a regular bathing suit allows. Great review!

What a great swimsuit! It does the perfect job of keeping you covered but emphasising your curves at the same time. Do you think it would fit me, I am a 38F.THanks in advance,Sabrina =)

The only way to know for sure is to order it and try…but yes, I would suspect it’d work really well on you. Fingers crossed!
