Quite a few months ago I was sent a parcel from the wonderful Ewa Michalak. This parcel contained a wealth of lingerie goodies that I was itching to share with you, but unfortunately real life got in the way and as explained here I was forced to take a few months’ break from blogging. So this post is long overdue and comes with huge apologies to Ewa and her team.
Possibly the most exciting item this wondrous parcel contained was the Ewa Michalak Babydoll For You!

I have tried a few babydolls recently but none so far had been a perfect fit for me. When I heard that Ewa Michalak were going to make their own babydoll I eagerly anticipated its release as I am a huge fan of their bras so I had incredibly high hopes for the babydoll.
This is probably as close as it can possibly be to the babydoll of my dreams! Put simply, Ewa Michalak have taken their unpadded SM bra shape and attached a babydoll skirt to the bottom. Amazing! On this occasion, it is the SM Czarodziejka bra that has been used for the babydoll; I have this bra and will be reviewing it separately another time.
The fit of the bra of this babydoll is every bit as excellent as the regular bras. The 32KK/70KK is a good fit for me in the cups, and although I do find they give pretty much full coverage on me they also give excellent uplift, shape, and even a hint of cleavage. The cups are unpadded and unlined, and are made with a gorgeous thick lace fabric.
The wires of the 32KK/70KK cups are classically narrow, which is one of the many things I love about EM bras. The cups themselves are nice and deep, allowing plenty of room for my breast tissue. This narrow wire/deep cup combination produces superb forward projection, meaning that my boobs are kept exactly where they should be – at the front of my body – and not forced into my armpits as they are so often with the majority of other bra brands who for some bizarre reason make their large cupped bras with wide wires and shallow cups. The Babydoll For You! wires are not too tall under my arms and simply stop in a position that is comfortable whilst easily containing my breast tissue. The central gore is nice and narrow and it sits perfectly flat against my sternum, without digging in or pinching my skin.
The band fastens with four rows of three hooks and eyes. I found the 32/70 band to be rather on the snug side and feel that a 34/75 would have been a better fit overall (i.e. I would have sister sized to a 34K/75K). The firmness of EM bra bands has varied over the years but it seems that lately they have become firm again. This is a good thing, as it means bands don’t stretch out so quickly, but it can be frustrating when ordering as the sizing isn’t always consistent. If you’re unsure about which size is best for a certain EM style then do check out Bratabase, where heaps of users have entered the measurements of bras they’ve tried. There’s also a superb forum where you can ask for advice on sizing and fit.
The babydoll’s straps are fully adjustable and thanks to their gentle stretch and width they are very comfortable to wear. The straps are joined to the bra band at the back with oblong attachments; in the past I have bemoaned these as they can have sharp edges and dig into my back but these are thick and robust and therefore cause me no trouble at all.
As always, there are some cute features and adornments that add to the overall aesthetic of the babydoll. There is a ribbon and button embellishment at the point where the four part cup meets the strap at the front, and there are two simple buttons on the central gore, which is something that makes a change from the usual bow or floral adornment. The babydoll has a thick ribbon along the underbust, which may be too thick on someone much slimmer than me, but on me I think it works really well and looks great! Previous babydolls I’ve tried have flared out too much from the underbust, but this ribbon helps to minimise this issue, as you can see from my photos. The ribbon is attached to the babydoll at the back and runs along the underbust through simple loops, meaning that you can tie it as tightly or as loosely as you wish.
The skirt of the babydoll is made from very simple stretch chiffon. It’s lovely and soft and does not feel cheap or scratchy. I really love the frill at the bottom of the skirt as it adds a fun and feminine touch. I have examined my babydoll very closely to look for flaws where the skirt has been attached to the bra but I am delighted to say that it’s absolutely perfect. When the bra’s band is fastened there is a sexy flash of skin at the back thanks to the peek-a-boo keyhole feature, which has a generously sized bow beneath it.
As all of my reviews are completely honest and impartial, I must report that I do have one major issue with the babydoll. Being a woman with large boobs and a comparatively small underbust, it was quite a challenge to get the babydoll on and off. The small keyhole section at the back underneath the band fastening is not at all large enough for someone with my overbust/underbust proportions and although I managed to get the babydoll on with a bit of wriggling and step by step adjustment, it was another matter when it came to taking it off. As this is a lingerie garment I would wear for fun times with my partner, it’s one I think I’d have to keep on for the duration as taking it off is likely to be the least sexy manoeuvre possible!
The babydoll has a very simple and plain matching thong, which is the perfect partner as if it were any more fancy it would look too much. I suppose I should call it a g-string rather than a thong as it really is incredibly skimpy! I was sent a size 16/44, when in fact in EM smalls I usually wear an 18/46 or a 20/48, and so I found this to be rather too tight across the hips and it dug in to my soft, squidgy skin. I must point out that it didn’t feel uncomfortable but in terms of appearance a larger size would have definitely been better for me. Despite its skimpiness, the thong is very comfortable to wear and I like the fact it is completely plain apart from the two large bows at the front and one bow at the back.
Here are a few full length photos so you can appreciate the overall look of the babydoll when worn. I’ve teamed it with my Prague Lady Lace Hold-ups from The Big Tights Company and some platform stiletto heels from Primark.
I absolutely love the Ewa Michalak Babydoll For You! and all I need now is a special occasion to wear it. As a single girl those occasions are pretty thin on the ground but I know that one day I’ll meet Mr Right and boy, will he be in for a treat with all the lovely lingerie I have! This is by far the best babydoll I have tried so far and it definitely lived up to my high expectations. I wonder if EM will make it in more colours in the future – I’d absolutely LOVE a red one!
Looking to the future, I would really like it if Ewa Michalak made a babydoll with the PL shape as I do prefer my padded bras overall. I would also like to see them making a babydoll with a more fitted skirt section (which probably makes it some other kind of lingerie, rather than a babydoll). I’d also love a body – can you imagine the superior fit of a Ewa Michalak bra with a sexy lacy body? Heaven! And one more thing: a long line bra. My wishlist is not too long…is it?!
