Today’s review from Forever 21+’s 2018 UK swimwear collection is the Forever 21+ Mesh Trim Bikini Top and matching Bottoms in black.

A stylishly simple bikini in classic black – what’s not to love? I ordered both the top and the bottoms in 1X, which is labelled as a UK 20 but I would say the top fits like a UK 16 and the bottoms are akin to a UK 16/18.
I loved the simple elegance of the Forever 21+ Mesh Trim Bikini. The mesh details were just perfect, and I really liked the triangular shape of the cups.
The bikini top is another cami-style one, with no underwires or formal support. There are thin removable pads to disguise pointy nipples, but I took them out as usual as they never stay in place and end up making me cross!
The straps are fully adjustable so it’s easy to get the best fit for you. The back of the Forever 21+ Mesh Trim Bikini has no fastening so the top just pulls on over your head, or I suppose you could step into it if your hips aren’t as generous as mine.
As I am sure you are expecting me to say, I had my usual issue of requiring much more boob room in the top. It’s such a shame…but my bank balance doesn’t mind too much as my big boobs are saving me from buying oodles of swimwear!
You may well be thinking the top looks fine from this angle, but some of my other pictures show the quadboob and side spillage I was getting. I know I won’t ever get a perfect fit from non bra-sized swimwear but the Forever 21+ Mesh Trim Bikini Top was too much of a compromise to work for me.
The Forever 21+ Mesh Trim Bikini briefs, on the other hand, were absolutely perfect.
Sitting high on the hip, they’re incredibly comfortable. They’re quite skimpily cut on the backside but not indecently so. I loved them!
So this was another bikini I decided not to keep due to the lack of boob room, but I am posting it here anyway in case someone less busty than me sees this review and finds it helpful. I think it’s always useful to see everyday people in clothes, lingerie and swimwear online – stock photos are great but candid pictures can help give a better idea of fit.
If you’d like to buy the Forever 21+ Mesh Trim Bikini you can get the top here for just £12.99 (was £18), and the bottoms here for only £10.99 (was £16).

Ok so I just commented on your last post, but thank you for reviewing all these pieces because it’s SO helpful to see them on a normal body. I know they have used plus size models in the website photos but they must be very photoshopped. Your pictures are so real! Also I love this bikini and I think I’m going to have to order it along with the ice cream cone swimming costume you reviewed last time.
Thanks Gemma! I pride myself on using photos that truly represent how I look in items, so yes of course I will post the ones I prefer but my main aim is to showcase the garment as fully and as realistically as possible. So you will see double chins, cellulite, back rolls and chubby arms. It’s all me, and I am proud of that. I hope you loved the pieces you ordered.
Its a shame they put the mesh bit on the underbust, it can't be seen on the F21 model and she has relatively small boobs so there's no hope for any of us who are more busty. I still think it looks good though and your review has convinced me to give it a try. Thanks Leah.
Yes, I think you are right. The mesh bit is hidden on the bikini top on anyone with a heavier bust. And I agree that it looks fine as it is but the design could have been thought out a bit better. What did you think of the bikini when you got it? Did you keep it?
I have been following your reviews with great interest. I find them so useful even when things don't fit because the details you provide help me decide if they will or won't work for me. Thank you for the time and trouble you put into your posts, it is much appreciated xxx
Thanks Lily – that’s exactly why I do what I do. I want to show women what things look like on me so they can get an idea of what it might look like on them. Thank you for your support 🙂
