It’s another pale-coloured bikini, so again I wasn’t sure how well it would suit me. But of course the only way to find out is to try it, so I went ahead and ordered the Forever 21+ Lace-Up Bikini Top and Bottoms in a 1X. On the label it says it’s a UK 20 but I would say it’s more like a UK 16/18.
I actually really liked the colour in the end! I think it looks great against my milky white untanned skin, and I think it would also look good if I had a tan. I suspect it would be truly eye-popping on someone with more natural melanin than me – this is a great colour for darker skintones.
The F21 website describes this colour as ‘rose’; I would say it’s more like a pinky beige or perhaps even puce.
I love how it’s almost a nude on me – I can imagine that causing a bit of a stir at the beach, haha!
The Forever 21+ Lace-Up Bikini is another one with a fully undo-able bustline.
Yup, just pull the string and the top comes undone. It certainly would come in handy after a tiring day of sunbathing – no fiddly clasps to worry about!
The Forever 21+ Lace-Up Bikini Top has no formal boob support, so no underwires or concealed boob ‘shelf’. There are removable pads to provide some nipple modesty but of course these do not support the breasts themselves at all.
The straps on the Forever 21+ Lace-Up Bikini Top are elasticated and fully adjustable. They’re really comfortable and provide good support. Sadly the boob room on this top is severely lacking for me at least, and I felt like I was but a sudden movement away from revealing all!
As I mentioned earlier, there is no clasp or fastening on the back of the top, meaning that it’s wider than some and of course smooth across the back.
The laces on the briefs are for effect only; they can be unlaced part way but the fabric is still attached towards the bottom of the laces. This will avoid any unfortunate wardrobe malfunctions!
The briefs are really comfortable. They have good coverage on the backside, albeit high cut, and sit just below the waist on me. Sizing is spot on.
The Forever 21+ Lace-Up Bikini is definitely a special one and I think it will turn some heads this summer!
Sadly due to the severe lack of boob room I wasn’t able to keep the Forever 21+ Lace-Up Bikini, but I hope some of you reading this will give it a try as it really is a gem. You can buy it here – and hurry as it’s currently in the sale section with the top priced at just £13.99 (was £20) and the briefs only £10.99 (was £16).
