A few years ago, I discovered Forever 21+ swimwear. Wow, what a revelation! Gorgeous, fast fashion pieces in funky prints and fashion-forward designs. I shared some pieces on social media and they got a great reaction so last year my intention was to review the entire 2017 swimwear range by ordering every piece myself and trying it on, taking photos, and then writing review posts. Well, I ordered all the pieces and got all the photos done, but I only managed to write one post before getting the news that I was being made redundant at work so Real Life took over and naturally I suddenly had other priorities. This year, I am determined to make it happen, so here begins a series of reviews of Forever 21+’s 2018 UK swimwear collection. I specify UK as the US has a far wider range, but for some reason the folks at F21 don’t want to make them all available to us here in Blighty. I reckon that’s a BIG mistake, but there we are. Hopefully they’ll give us the full range next year. Forever 21+’s swimwear is hugely popular so these posts will be relatively brief as my priority here is to share the pieces with you asap in the hope that you will have time to order them before they sell out. So, without any further delay, let’s start! Today I am reviewing the Forever 21+ Tropical Print Swimsuit £25.

My personal preference for swimwear is for bikinis rather than swimsuits but I’ll be trying all the styles I can get my hands on! I went for a size 0X in the Forever 21+ Tropical Print Swimsuit as I sometimes find the 1X (my go-to F21+ size) is too big on the waist for me. Forever 21 class their 0X as a UK 18 but I am not sure this is entirely accurate – I’d say it’s more like a UK 16.
I absolutely adore the print of the Forever 21+ Tropical Print Swimsuit. Greens, blues, turquoises and teals are always my favourite hues and this has them in abundance. It’s perfect for holidays, whether in the UK or somewhere further afield such as the Caribbean, the Mediterranean, or even somewhere exotic like The Maldives (I’ve always wanted to go there!).
The Forever 21+ Tropical Print Swimsuit has a very low cut front, so for me at least areas of my body that have possibly never seen direct sunlight would be exposed (oo-er!!), so of course plenty of suncream would be a must. There are no underwires and no ‘shelf’ in this swimsuit so if you’re looking for bust support this might not be the suit for you.
The cut on the hips is good; not too high and not too low. I found the fabric was very soft and comfortable and the seams and edges didn’t cut in or irritate my skin.
I did find that my boobs kept trying to escape from the centre of the swimsuit; whilst there is quite good coverage at the sides the middle did prove a bit of a problem for me and my size 34LL-ish breasts proved a bit too much for this particular cut, unfortunately.
The adjustable straps cross over at the back so they do a great job of holding the Forever 21+ Tropical Print Swimsuit in place. They are quite thin but they felt very comfortable and I didn’t notice them rubbing or digging in.
Butt coverage is also good, without being overly modest. This swimsuit didn’t give me a wedgie, either, so staying power is very impressive!
This is such a great swimsuit, and I would recommend it for those with smaller boobs than me, purely based on the fact I had to keep readjusting to feel comfortable and avoid a nip slip. Big boobs need proper support, and this swimsuit doesn’t have any at all really, apart from the tightness of the fabric, which is why I often size down in swimsuits. It’s a really lovely piece though so if you want it make sure you get yours here.
I hope this review was useful – let me know your thoughts on it and the Forever 21+ Tropical Print Swimsuit in the comments below.
