Next up in my Forever 21+ 2018 swimwear review series is the Forever 21+ Contrast Bikini Top and Bottoms.

I love blue and turquoise so this set was bound to be a winner with me in terms of colours. I opted for both the Forever 21+ Contrast Bikini top and bottoms in my standard F21+ size of 1X, which they label as being equivalent to a UK 20 but I think it’s more like a UK 18, or maybe even a 16.

I think you can tell from my face that I loved the aesthetic of the Forever 21+ Contrast Bikini! The light aqua/teal combination is absolutely fab and would look terrific on all skin tones. I quite clearly don’t have a tan here (not even a fake one) but even on my pale complexion the colours look great.

The Forever 21+ Contrast Bikini top has adjustable straps and the band fastens by sliding the looped end onto a metal hooked clasp. There are three tightness options so you can wear the band tighter or looser as you wish.

Sadly the bust coverage is insufficient for my 34LL boobs, and I had quadboob as well as spillage at the sides. I don’t look for a 100% perfect fit in swimwear but this was bordering on indecent and I was at significant risk of baring much more than I intended!!

Even for just lounging on the beach or by the pool, I would be too nervous in this bikini top that I would have an inadvertent nip slip or maybe even have a whole boob pop out! However, if your boobs are smaller this won’t be a problem so please don’t discount this set based on my awkward proportions.

The 1X bottoms were a great fit on me. I like the fact the sides are very narrow, so minimal tan lines, and the front is fairly low rise but high enough to sufficiently cover my lower abdomen area. Looking at these photos I can see the butt coverage borders on skimpy in appearance but the bottoms felt very comfortable on and I did not get a wedgie or have to readjust them at all.

So, overall this set is fab but the top is sadly too small in the bust for me. That doesn’t stop me recommending it to you, though, as it’s a great bikini that I would have loved to be able to wear on holiday myself.

The top and bottoms each cost £16.00. If this is the set for you, click here to buy it now!

Sorry I don't have a profile on here but I had to comment to say this looks incredible on you!!!!! Its such a shame the top is to small though, I wonder, would a bigger size work? Just cos this looks to good to miss! I don't fit in F21+ but I will be telling my sister about this one for her holiday next month.Love Bella x

Thanks you, Bella. Unfortunately a bigger size wouldn’t work because then the band would be too loose and I don’t think the cups would be sufficiently large enough to justify that compromise. Hope your sister buys this bikini for her holiday and has a great time.

Honestly I don’t know why F21 don’t do cup sized swimwear and lingerie or at least if they put more boob room in them. Not everyone is a B cup!!!!

I understand your frustration but making cup sized swimwear is very complicated and therefore expensive. Forever 21 make relatively cheap fast fashion items so it wouldn’t be financially viable, I suspect. Luckily there are lots of cup sized options available, such a Curvy Kate, Flirtelle, Panache and Freya – have you tried any of these brands before? If not I’d highly recommend them.

I have been eyeing this up on the site for a while but I was convinced it would look awful on me. I have a very similar figure to you and seeing how H-O-T you look in it I have just placed an order ;0D Thank you for your helpful review!

I feel like other plus size bloggers only post clothes etc that work for them. I love that your different and post things like this as well, it doesn’t work for you but you love it and recommend it to other women and you say who it might work for (EG smaller boobs). This is so useful, thank you so much. I wonder which swimwear you will review next!

Thank you…it’s a funny one because so few items fit me really well that I’m left with little choice but to post the ill-fitting items! And we bloggers each do our work in different ways, for me there is no right or wrong. Stay tuned for my next review x

I remember your post from last year and I was so sad that you didn’t get to share more posts. It’s great that you’re trying again this year – don’t give up! This bikini looks so good on you, I would keep it anyway!! I am not sure it’ll look good on me with my mum tum but I have ordered it anyway based on your review x x x

Thanks Sophie. It still irks me now that I couldn’t make it happen last year, so I’m really determined to do it this time! I already have a number of bikinis that don’t fit well and as I don’t have a job at the moment I can’t justify keeping this one, as pretty as it is. I bet it will look awesome on you x
