Boxing Day, St Stephen's Day, 26th December...whatever you call it, it's the day after Christmas and it happens to be my birthday. This year I spent the day at my brother's (as I did on Christmas Day) and again I was looking for an outfit that was versatile enough to be comfortable and stylish. I opted for the George at Asda Jacquard Skater Dress (£14, UK sizes 8-24 (now sold out)).
For most people, Christmas Day typically involves eating a hearty lunch, followed by lots of sitting around, opening presents, playing games and watching tv. It's therefore crucial to wear a comfortable outfit as the last thing you want is to feel constricted by your clothing. Some people opt to wear their pyjamas all day but seeing as I would be going to my brother's I knew I would have to get properly dressed and so decided to make the most of it and go for something festive and fancy.
A couple of weeks ago, I was contacted by the lovely PR team at fashion forward plus size brand Pink Clove. They offered to send me something to review from their partywear range and immediately I knew what I wanted: the Pink Clove Claret Velvet Dress (£35, UK sizes 16-32).
Plus size brand Pink Clove have been making waves on a number of blogs for some months now and you may have already read my review of their Tartan Skater Dress, which was a big hit with me. I have some other items to tell you about from the order I placed back in November, but for now they will have to wait. I was really excited when the Pink Clove PR team got in touch and asked if they could send me something to review. At the time they had not yet released their partywear collection so I went for something that I thought might work as an everyday dress: the Ballerina Wrap Bust Dress (£30.00, UK sizes 16-28).
I love browsing in the clothing sections at my local Asda stores. There's always a great bargain to be had and in these days of 'fast fashion' George at Asda is ideal. A few weeks ago I saw the G21 Animal Print Bodycon Dress in store and it really grabbed my attention.
A few days ago I posted my review of the Ewa MichalakS Porcelanka. The 'S' bra is kind of like a padded balconette that centres the breasts on one's chest and projects them forwards. You might be thinking, 'Well, isn't that what a bra is supposed to do?' Actually, bras do lots of different things to boobs (especially larger boobs) so it's important to know what type of bra suits your boobs best. Today's review is the Ewa Michalak S Satine.
As Christmas approaches many people's thoughts turn to parties, celebrations and family gatherings. At this time of year it's great fun to go shopping for new clothes as there are so many stunning dresses and separates available on the high street. I was so excited when a surprise package arrived a couple of weeks ago and inside it was the most beautiful dress from the wonderful team at Scarlett & Jo.
A few months ago I was contacted by the lovely folks at Bonmarché to ask if I'd like to review an item from their website. If you're not familiar with the brand, they are a high street retailer who also have a wider range of clothing available online. Catering towards the more mature end of the ladies fashion market, Bonmarché often have unexpected gems so in my opinion they are always worth a look. After a browse through the website, I went for the David Emanuel Madagascar Abstract Print Mock Wrap Jersey Dress in size 12 (£28.00, UK sizes 10-24):
Earlier this year, Polish lingerie manufacturer Ewa Michalak brought out the new 'S' bra: a fabulously shaped bra that is ideal for women with softer or 'difficult' breasts. This bra is designed to keep the breasts very much at the front of the body, so it seemed like a great option for me with my 'up front' boobs. I reviewed the first S bra, the S Wiśniówka, back in June this year and although I loved the shape and support it gave me, the 32K was too small and frustratingly the 32KK was a smidge too big! I also found that the cups gave almost full coverage, which is not what I was after at all. That said, it turns out that the S Wiśniówka 32KK is a bra I have ended up wearing a lot, especially under higher neckline clothing. I was recently given the opportunity to try some of Ewa Michalak's latest bra designs and today I am going to share with you my review of the S Porcelanka.
Earlier this year, online plus size retailer Simply Be worked with three bloggers to design their dream dresses. It was such a wonderful opportunity for Laura, Lauren and Em and they each came up with a unique design that was very typically 'them'.
