F&F A/W 2013 Partywear Photoshoot and Video

A couple of months ago I was contacted by the F&F (also known as Clothing at Tesco) PR team to ask if I'd like to model for them in their top secret A/W 2013 partywear video.  Of course I jumped at the chance and before I knew it I was heading to London at the crack of dawn on the big day.

We weren't allowed to mention what we were doing to anyone so I had to try to contain my excitement and not share it on social media.  I'm amazed that I managed to keep it quiet for so long!

When I arrived at the studio in Shoreditch I met up with the other fabulous bloggers who'd been chosen to take part in the shoot: Sarah, SherinRebecca and Annie.

After saying a quick hello we were whisked into hair and make-up where we were pampered and preened within an inch of our lives.

My hair was styled by the wonderful Lisa, who spent ages straightening my hair and then putting it into rollers to create soft, feminine waves.  I was rather taken with the roller look and would have been happy to stay in them all day!

Next, my make-up was done by a lovely lady whose name I cannot recall and have sadly not been able to find out.  She gave me heaps of tips whilst applying the cosmetics and all of the products she used smelled delicious.

I had already had a fitting a few weeks before so I knew what outfits had been selected for me; two dresses, of course, both in a size 16.  The stylist, Hannah Eichler, was just lovely and so much fun!  She chose accessories and shoes to match each outfit.  I had wanted to wear black tights but I was advised that they wanted me bare-legged.

The first item chosen for me was the F&F Signature Empire Jersey Dress (£25.00):

And the second, which was selected by F&F as the outfit they would promote, was the Julia Plus Size Lace Panel Illusion Dress (£35.00, now in the sale at £28.00):

The rest of the day passed in a flurry of photos and video shots, amidst lots of chats and giggles with my new blogger pals.  We had thought the main focus would be the video but the photos were definitely given priority so the lovely videographer, Dionne Loftus at A&R Photographic, quietly and professionally filmed the proceedings.  We were all utterly thrilled with the video she made of the day:

At the end of the day, we were all completely exhausted but still managed to muster the energy to head to a cocktail bar for drinks and nibbles!

And so to the images.  We were given a sneaky peek of them last week but they were only made public on the F&F website and Facebook page last week.

This image of me has caused quite a controversy on the F&F Facebook page.  I'm not going to talk about how I feel about it all in this post but I will be writing another one soon (along with a review of this dress) so keep your eyes peeled for that!

I thoroughly enjoyed my experience of being a model for the day.  It was incredibly tiring and very hard work but also great fun and gave me an insight into the world of fashion shoots.  Thank you so much to all at F&F and We Are Social for a fabulous day and for giving me the chance to work with you.

The team at F&F have very kindly offered one reader of my blog the opportunity to win a £50 voucher to spend online - there are so many gorgeous partywear items available at the moment that you'll be spoilt for choice!  To enter, use the Rafflecopter below.

  4. The video is so fun, and I think you absolutely wonderful in the pictures. I love the neckline of the plus size dress but I think the 16 would be too big for me, it's a shame the neckline's different on the straight size version.

  5. I always wear two pairs of tights so I can wear a shorter skirt and still not feel like my bum is on show! Top party tip if you're planning on boogying on down in a short skirt or dress!

  12. Holy crap you are GORGEOUS. You look like a knock out in that dress, I can't even. WOW. What a babe!

  13. My top party tip is to wear a lip stain or matte lipstick rather than a gloss because they will last longer throughout the party and you won't have to worry about touching your makeup up! :)

  14. Comfy shoes - dull but essential for a good night!!

  15. I was really saddened by some of the FB comments I read. I think you are far from boxy and have a wonderful hourglass shape. I do think the dress could have been a size smaller to highlight your curves better, but you still rocked it anyway. Please don't let those awful comments bring you down. I'm an even greater fan of yours because of the way you have handled this!

  25. My party tip is to be able to forget about yourself. My husband and I seem to host lots of parties, and I am most at ease and entertaining when I don't have to worry about adjusting my outfit or whatever else.

  26. My top party tip would be to always bring an extra pair of COMFY shoes! For when your killer heels start to kill your feet! Haha.

  27. Wearing high-waisted, a-line skirts to parties always wins for me! Hides the belly as I keep eating and is super comfortable. :)

  28. My top party tip is not to wear those 5 inch heels that you really want to because you know within an hour they will be coming off!! :) xx

    ReplyDelete
  29. Bring flat shoes! My feet are inevitably killing me by the end of the night so slipping into flats is a relief :)

  30. The photos and video look amazing and it is great to see 'normal' people showing the clothes. I never anything against 'model size' women but it makes it harder to see how clothes may look on other bodies. Lindsey :)

  31. My top party tip would either be to not wear something that you love.. so long as you suck in your tummy, or so long as you stand up straight- you shouldn't be worried about that one little thing all night; or to wear a well-sealed bright lipstick as it will make you feel the centre of attention and fabulous every time you look in the mirror! Plus, it's super sexy.

  32. The video is awesome, you all look so relaxed, were you? The dress was very flattering by the way.

  33. Love you in that bodycon dress. You look gorgeous. End of Story! ;)

My top party tip? Whatever you decide to wear is not as important as to be in high spirits.

  48. I see that Tesco have at last removed some of the personal comments from the Facebook page. It took them far too long to take any action, I really was disgusted. They should have taken better care of you than that. I think you look stunning in the photos but what's more important is that you are a great person who helps so many people with your blog. Thank you for everything you do for us <3 xxx
