Simply Be Mary Jane Block Heel Court Shoes EEE Fit

Several weeks ago, I was feeling particularly fed up with having hardly any shoes that fitted me properly and were comfortable so I went on a footwear binge and ordered a TON of shoes from Simply Be.

I have long relied on Simply Be for wide-fitting shoes - did you know they stock footwear in a range of widths all the way up to EEEEE?  I usually find that the EEE works best for me, but this varies depending on the style of the shoe/sandal/boot and sometimes I size up or down in shoe size and/or width.  It's great to have the luxury of options like this, which is not something easily found on the UK high street, so I am eternally thankful for brands like Simply Be who really understand the varying sizing needs for footwear.

When my huge order arrived, I had great fun trying on all the shoes.  I ended up keeping several pairs, with one of them being the Simply Be Mary Jane Block Heel Court Shoes EEE Fit:

These shoes are so cute!  I love the look of the patent material and the block heel is adorable.  At only £32, these were a real find.

I was looking for a pair of low-heeled Mary Janes that would be suitable for walking or standing for extended periods of time and these were just the ticket.  I can't wear very high heels and often struggle with shoes that don't have a strap of some sort so I was really pleased to nab these in my size (5EEE).

Made from man-made materials, the Mary Jane Block Heel Court Shoes are incredibly comfortable.  The inner sole has padding underneath which gives extra support and comfort when walking or standing for long periods of time.  On first inspection I was concerned that the sole of the shoe would be too thin for my liking - you know the kind of shoe where you can feel every stone and piece of grit underfoot - but I am pleased to report that this hasn't been the case at all.

The block heel - which is about an inch and a half high - is sturdy and durable.  The heel adds a touch of height without making the shoes impractical, and they have a wonderful girlishness about them.

The patent material is really shiny in real life and it adds a very glamorous effect to these shoes.

I love the thin strap which holds each shoe in place.  It's delicate and slim, and the buckle has an elasticated attachment so there is manoeuvrability even when fastened.

The Mary Jane Block Heel Court Shoes would look wonderful with my growing collection of Collectif Dolores Doll dresses.  The patent effect is perfect for the retro look and also matches with my favourite wide waist belt.

I've discovered that these shoes also come in red and I have recently ordered a pair.  They look like Dorothy shoes (Wizard of Oz) - who could possibly resist?

So, what do you think of my new Mary Janes?  Is this a style of shoe you like or is there something else you prefer?

  1. I love Mary Janes! I just bought a pair the day before yesterday actually, but I have very tiny feet so I got mine from the children's section. I usually wear a US size 5 but in these shoes I had to get a child's size 3.5 (not sure how these sizes translate to the UK :P)!

It can be hard having small feet because many lines end at a size 6 and are too large, so I struggle finding things that are strictly adult shoes, such as high heels. On the bright side, children's shoes are a lot less expensive - these were only $10!
