For the past few years, when this time arose for me I had been wearing dreadful, shapeless big pants from Fashion World. Being 100% cotton they sort of did the job but had no support whatsoever and became baggy and shapeless almost straight away. I decided to take drastic action and invest in some shapewear as it really does make one feel better, even when slobbing around the house on a lazy Sunday or at certain times of the month.
After a bit of research I decided the best thing for me to go for were the Sloggi Maxi Briefs 4 pair pack.

I got them on Figleaves with 20% off and free postage so they worked out better than the £24 shown on the site. I do love a bargain!
When they arrived, I was convinced they would not fit me or be comfortable. I am delighted to say that I was proved wrong on both counts. They fitted really well and were super comfy.
Being 95% cotton and 5% spandex, the briefs have lots of stretch and offer some shaping and support. They keep their shape all day, do not bag and, perhaps most importantly of all, do not 'ride up'. They stay put and stay comfy all day.
After having worn them on various occasions over the past few weeks, I am pleased to report that they have kept their shape and have not yet started to go baggy with wear. How long this will last I do not know but for now at least I think they are fab.
Admittedly, these briefs are not the most sexy I possess and could even be described as a bit 'grannyish' but when teamed with a black bra or one with black features (the Ewa Michalak PL Turkus or Fuksja, for example, has black straps and lovely black lace along the edges of the bra cups), they really don't look half bad and can almost pass as 'retro pants' as they are high-waisted and have that classic look.
I thought it would be useful to do a 'before and after' set of photos so you can see how different my new kecks are. The pics on the left show my old 100% cotton briefs - clearly they did nothing at all in terms of smoothing or support! The pics on the right are my new Sloggis - needless to say the old pants have gone to the lingerie drawer in the sky!!
If you buy the 4 pack of these Sloggis from Figleaves they work out at £6 per pair. However, Figleaves often have discounts available (just search for 'Figleaves discount code' on Google) and of course you can also collect Nectar points on your purchase by routing through from the Nectar website. I think they are definitely worth the investment - it's certainly been a while since I was this comfortable!
